Indication:
Xarelto (Rivaroxaban) is an anticoagulant (blood thinner) used to:
- Prevent blood clots in patients after knee or hip replacement surgery.
- Reduce the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).
- Prevent stroke and blood clots in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) that is not caused by a heart valve problem.
It works by inhibiting Factor Xa, an essential component in blood clot formation, reducing the risk of dangerous clots.
Usage Instructions:
- Take one 10mg tablet once daily or as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
- Can be taken with or without food.
- Take at the same time each day for best results.
- Do not stop taking Xarelto without consulting your doctor, as it may increase the risk of clot formation.
Precautions:
- Not recommended for individuals with active bleeding disorders or severe liver disease.
- Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease or are undergoing surgery.
- Avoid alcohol and medications that increase bleeding risk (e.g., NSAIDs, aspirin) unless advised by a doctor.
